Description

The collection takes inspiration from ancient porcelain vases found in the ”Batu Hitam“ shipwreck in 1998, where Indonesian fishermen discovered a sunken trade vessel from the Tang Dynasty of China bound for the Arab world along the coast. Using ancient porcelain submerged in the seabed for thousands of years as imagery, it presents a unique visual and tactile experience.

The creation of this soft sculpture collection simulates the engraving of ancient stone inscription through traditional quilting technique. By seeking clues from material culture and natural history, it mingles Eastern with Western cultures, travels through time and spaces, and proposes a reconstruction and reflection on the aesthetics of creation.

We're delighted to announce a group exhibition coming up in the Isola District during Milan Design Week 2024. Engaging in material deconstruction, cultural reassessment, and exploring human-space connections, the four designers articulate contemporary design. They endeavor to perceive the subtle undertones within today's scenarios, weaving intricate meanings into their designs and shaping new chapters through their experimental reinterpretations.
